We are searching for a Director- Facility Environment of Care to support our Eastern Region. Reports to the Executive Director of Engineering/Facilities & Environmental Services. Position will function as the proud building owner for building operations by providing an aseptic and aesthetically pleasing environment for Southcoast's patients, employees and visitors through direction and supervision.

  • Provide daily on-site leadership to the Engineering/Facilities & EVS Staff and Team Leaders.
  • Administration of all policies and procedures, which contribute to the accomplishment of the objectives of the department.
  • Oversight of Facility based Joint Commission Environment of Care requirements.
  • Effective use of financial resources (CAPEX and OPEX), and robust development/training of staff to meet existing and future needs.
  • Duties include direct supervisory responsibility for all assigned personnel and activities including selection, orientation, and training of personnel to present a prideful approach to their responsibilities; initiation of personnel action recommendations; staffing, planning and development; and fiscal accountability for establishing and controlling operating budgets.

Pay Range: $100,000 - $192,000

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience required. Bachelors in Facilities Management or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Must demonstrate/possess knowledge and skills necessary to communicate and interact with patients, employees, and all stakeholders, clients, and guests within scope of departmental services.
  • Experience with renovation and expansion projects, critical analysis of energy center issues, and setting hospital standards for energy conservation projects.
  • Regulatory knowledge of Joint Commission Environment of Care standards required, including Utility Management, Hazardous Waste Management, Life/Fire Safety Management, and Building/Construction related Infection Prevention standards.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal Regulation, OSHA, DPH, NFPA, EPA, and MassDEP required.
  • Knowledge of FDA, DOT, CDC, and Massachusetts Building Code requirements preferred.
  • Experience in operating and capital planning budgeting and developing and maintaining policies and procedures required.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management software strongly preferred.
  • Emergency preparedness experience is a plus.
  • Over five years health care plant operations management, strong communication skills, excellent leadership, construction management and safety management experience.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus and provide required vaccination documentation unless approved for an exemption or deferral by Southcoast prior to starting employment.
